The chain conveyor (redler) drags material through a closed rectangular casing with flighted chain strands — en-masse: the whole material column moves together. That makes it the machine of choice for hot, abrasive and dusty products where belts and screws reach their limits.

Working Principle and Design

Inside the closed casing, a forged-link chain with transport flights moves along the trough bottom. The material fills the casing cross-section and travels as a compact column with minimal internal movement — gentle on the product, contained against dust, and tolerant of high temperatures.

Design revolves around chain selection and wear management: chain breaking load with proper safety factor, hardened links and sprockets, replaceable bottom liners, and correctly engineered inlets that prevent flooding. Multiple inlets and outlets with motorised gates allow one conveyor to serve several silos or process points.
