Overview
Preparing Filled Packages for Shipment
A palletizing line receives filled packages from bagging or filling machines by conveyor, aligns and orients them, and places them layer by layer onto the pallet according to a defined stacking recipe. The full pallet then leaves the line for the next steps such as stretch wrapping or storage.
The main components are package infeed conveyors, bag flattening and orientation unit, pallet dispenser, palletizing unit and full pallet outfeed conveyor. The palletizing unit can be robotic, gantry or a conventional layer-forming design; the choice depends on package type, weight, line capacity and available space.
The stacking recipe is prepared for pallet size and package dimensions to keep the layers stable. Several recipes can be defined for different package sizes.

The diagram shows the flow in which filled packages arrive on the line, are aligned and oriented, the pallet pattern is formed and packages are placed on the pallet, and the full pallet is transferred to the next operations. Bagging and stretch wrapping are separate equipment.
